Comment from Natural Products Association

Summary: The Natural Products Association (NPA) is requesting that the FDA provide enforcement discretion or revise Nutrition Facts rules to allow manufacturers to list branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) on labels without reporting caloric values. They argue that because BCAAs are not "complete proteins," they should be treated similarly to allulose, which was granted a similar exemption for caloric reporting.
