Summary: An individual patient requests that the agency continue to allow compounded Tirzepatide through 503b pharmacies. They argue that they require access to specific off-label dosages that are not available through the manufacturer and are not covered by insurance.
Please continue to allow compounded Tirzepatide through 503b pharmacies. I inject 1.25 mg Tirzepatide, an off-label dose, once weekly to aid with body recomposition by decreasing my body fat and maintaining muscle mass, reduce my cholesterol, and reduce inflammation. This dosage is not available through Lilly and if it were, it would not be covered by my insurance as it is being prescribed for off-label purposes. This medication at this lower than normally prescribed dose has improved my health and fitness. I need to continue to have access to Tirzepatide for off-label use. Thank you.
