Summary: An individual patient supports the inclusion of tirzepatide on the list of bulk drug substances for which there is a clinical need. They argue that compounding allows for customized dosages and combinations (like adding vitamin B3) that are not commercially available and are necessary for their specific health needs.
I use a compounded tirzepatide with B3 for weight loss, inflammation reduction and better metabolic health. The manufactured product Zepbound dosage induced severe side effects (nausea and fatigue), which I could not tolerate. My healthcare provider transitioned me to custom, much lower dose combined with vitamin B3 that is not commercially available, to which I am responding very well. Prohibiting compounding of tirzepatide would prevent me from receiving an effective therapy I desperately need.
