Please continue to allow compounding for semaglutide (and all GLP-1 medications). I am 38, and have struggled with my weight for my entire life. I have been using compounded semaglutide from a 503B pharmacy for 18 months, and the improvement in every area of my life is something I am thankful for every single day. I am no longer afraid of physical activity-I enjoy it now. I’ve lost a total of 65 pounds, bringing myself out of the obese BMI category and have been in the middle of the healthy range for my height for the past year. I no longer eat out of boredom. I have more energy to play with my daughter. My depression and anxiety have faded, which makes me think it was tied to my weight.
If you remove these medications from the 503B list, I will lose access to my medication. Without access, I am so afraid I will gain back the weight that I’ve lost, and lose the positives in my life I have gained. Please don’t remove access.
