Summary: An individual commenter argues that compounded GLP drugs are necessary because brand-name versions are often inaccessible due to high costs and lack of customizable dosing. They urge the agency not to remove these compounded drugs from the list, noting their role in helping patients manage chronic conditions.
The brand name pens do not allow for custom dosing per clinician guidelines and or individualized treatment plan. The brand name drugs are still functionally unavailable and where I am located, they remain out of reach for the average patient with commercial insurance and to pay out of pocket for these brand name drugs is just unimaginable for most people. Please do not remove these compounded GLP drugs or the pharmacies’s ability to produce them. They have helped millions of Americans reach their health goals and either manage or get rid of chronic conditions that already overburden our healthcare system.
