Summary: An individual who uses compounded medication due to high costs and insurance denials expresses support for the action. They argue that expanding options for compounded drugs is necessary to improve quality of life and provide cost savings for patients facing a cost of living crisis.
I am interested in this topic due to my current use of compounded medicine.
I have to solicit compounded medicine due to the cost of a lot of 'name-brand' medication. It may be a covered medication under my health insurance, but my health insurance denies, denies, and denies any use of the medication. My case is similar to that of millions of Americans under 'private' insurance. Any option available for any medication should be applicable until we are under a single-payer health insurance option. The quality of life for those using compounded medication has increased dramatically between use of the medication and the cost savings compounded variants offer between this cost of living crisis we face every new day.
