Comment on FR Doc # 2026-12560

The American Small Business Chamber of CommerceSupportTrade association
Summary: The American Small Business Chamber of Commerce is requesting an extension of the public comment period for the proposed FAR Overhaul rules. They argue that the scale of the changes, the lack of cost analysis for small entities, and the interdependence with an unpublished rule (Part 19) require more time for meaningful public input.
AR Case 2026-002 — Extension of the comment period requested. The American Small Business Chamber of Commerce asks the FAR Council to provide a 90-day comment period for the four Revolutionary FAR Overhaul proposed rules published June 23, 2026 (FAR Cases 2026-001, 2026-002, 2026-005, and 2026-007) — at minimum, the 60 days Executive Order 12866 treats as the norm — or, better, to set the deadline no earlier than 60 days after proposed FAR Part 19 publishes, given these parts' direct interdependence with Part 19. The grounds are set out in the attached letter. ASBCC will be filing substantive comments.
