Summary: An individual with Alpha Gal Syndrome expresses support for the proposed policy based on personal experiences with unsafe food options on flights. They argue that airlines should be required to provide better support for passengers with severe food allergies, noting that such accommodations would require minimal effort from the carriers.
I need this legislation. I have Alpha Gal Syndrome. In flights taken over the last two months, airlines were not able to provide safe food. My reactions were mild but could easily have been worse. I was prepared with my own epi-pen but it’s possible I might have needed more medicine if my reaction was worse. I try to be safe in choosing foods and bringing medication but there may be a time I need additional support. Airlines can provide this support with minimal effort on their part.
