I support this petition to modernize FAA Emergency Medical Kit requirements by replacing epinephrine ampules and syringes with user-administered epinephrine devices in both pediatric and adult doses. As the brother of someone with severe food allergies and as a parent, I understand how quickly an allergic reaction can become life-threatening. In an emergency, every minute matters. Pre-measured auto-injectors or nasal epinephrine devices are faster, simpler, and less prone to administration errors than drawing medication from an ampule and syringe. While current requirements technically provide access to epinephrine, they do not reflect the safest or most practical method of delivering this medication during a time-critical in-flight emergency. Modern user-administered devices reduce complexity, improve reliability, and better protect both children and adults experiencing anaphylaxis. This proposal is a reasonable, practical update that aligns emergency equipment with current standards of care and would improve passenger safety with minimal burden on airlines. I respectfully urge the FAA to approve this petition.
