Summary: A railroad employee who has worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 15 years supports the restriction of drones near rail facilities. They argue that drone testing creates dangerous distractions for conductors working around hazardous equipment.
I have worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 15 years. Drone testing has become a more common practice by the managers in the field and also a higher up manager gets credited for a test if he observes it with him also. These test can be a distraction to the conductor in the field. A conductor should not encounter any type of distraction to while he is working since he is already working around an equipment that can cause at worst a death. These drones need to be illegal in any type of rail yard or main line so each and every employee that works for the rail road can go to their families safe
