Summary: A local resident expresses concern regarding the physical impacts of SpaceX launches, specifically citing vibrations and sonic booms that have damaged their home. They are requesting an extended study on infrasound and induced seismicity based on various flight trajectories and payload weights.
Repeated Request for an extended Infra Sound and Seismic Activity (Induced Seismicity) Study This is not our first request for an extended Infrasound and Seismic Activity (Induced Seismicity) study with data based on various trajectories, weather conditions and payload weights. Following the August 21, 2025 OTV-8 (X-37B) (USSF-36) mission from Launch Complex 39A at 2300 with Core B1092 returning to LZ-2 with a north east trajectory according to flightclub.io. This is one launch I did not get a video of but excessively felt from start to finish to the point the vibration from the launch itself through the sonic boom blew our French doors open on the Leni. We are located in the rural area of Cocoa out near I95. Our home was started in 1975 and completed in 1977. We have lived here over 5 years and there have just been the every now and then one off shake, rattle, and roll launches. We as a family understand trajectory, weather conditions, payload weights. . . and how they affect the infrasound and wave travel that can create Seismic Activity (Induced Seismicity) activity as I am a former science teacher and my husband is a pilot with a degree in Aeronautical Science and Meteorology. The thrill of Space is intriguing and one we know is here for now and the future but the impacts on the stability of our area is concerning.
