Assuming this rule was illegally filed as stated in this document and therefore will be rescinded, at the very least, I write to ask you to keep the existing data which show the trends of PFAs in our water. Stored historical data will give a benchmark when EPA testing resumes. It is unfortunate that the legal issue here has caused a break in this process that can help protect our drinking water and therefore human lives. We should all know what we are drinking when we turn on the tap. On our island of Nantucket, we have one aquifer for all and PFAs have been shown to be present in one well that was shut down in 2022. As a concerned citizen, I hope that the EPA will ensure that our federally-designated sole source aquifer provides water that is safe to drink with minimum amount of the 4 PFAS substances and other chemicals.
