Summary: The commenter, an individual, strongly opposes the proposed rescission of regulatory determinations for four PFAS substances. They argue that these "forever chemicals" are toxic, persist in the human body, and cause severe health issues like cancer and developmental problems.
I strongly object to this proposed rescission of regulatory determinations and removal of related provisions for four PFAS substances. Why? Because I care about life. These forever chemicals—and I should emphasize FOREVER—are toxic and as their name suggests, they last forever. If we ingest them, they will linger in our bodies for millennia. And what do these forever, toxic chemicals do in our bodies? The research suggests death: cancer, illness, detrimental impacts on cognitive and hormonal development. Children will feel this the most. We do not need PFAS chemicals in our society. The benefits do not outweigh the costs. Please respect and preserve life; please do not rescind the existing regulations!
