I strongly oppose EPA’s proposed rule to rescind drinking water protections against toxic PFAS. These “forever chemicals” do not simply fade away. They persist in our water, food, ecosystems, and bodies, and they are linked to serious health harms, including cancer, low birth weight, and other illnesses. Removing limits for PFHxS, PFNA, HFPO-DA (GenX), and PFBS would expose millions of people to preventable danger and abandon communities that have spent decades sounding the alarm. EPA must withdraw this proposal and defend, not dismantle, hard-won protections against PFAS contamination. The agency should stop approving new PFAS, ban non-essential uses, hold polluters accountable for cleanup, regulate PFAS as a class, and expand support so every community has access to safe, affordable drinking water. Clean water is a basic right. EPA’s duty is to protect life, not normalize contamination. I personally am immuno-compromised and am afraid of the effects on my own health if I have to drink and shower in water that is known to cause cancer. I often wonder who all these proposed rules are benefiting. Causing cancer and other ill effects in the populace doesn't benefit anyone... except the companies that don't want to pay to keep their toxic chemicals from the water. Seems very suspect.
