Summary: The commenter, writing as a private citizen, opposes the rescission of regulatory determinations for PFAS substances. They argue that the government should not allow water sources to be contaminated by these "forever chemicals" due to their toxicity and persistence.
Us citizens of the United States should not have to beg our own government *not* to let us be poisoned by forever chemicals and toxins. Water is not something humans can go without, and to purposely allow our waters to be made unsafe for consumption is abhorrent. "Together, these results suggest that PFNA exerts toxic effects on lymphoid organs and T cell and innate immune cell homeostasis in mice and that these effects may result from the activation of PPAR-α, PPAR-γ, and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis." & "PFOA is toxic and remains a serious pollutant across the US and world, however. GenX, HFPO-DA, and PFOA—and the fluoropolymers that they are or were used to produce—are per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), synthetic chemicals so persistent that they are called 'forever chemicals.'"
