Summary: A resident of Wilmington, NC, opposes the rescission of regulatory determinations for PFAS substances. The commenter argues that the EPA should instead increase regulation on these chemicals to protect public drinking water from corporate pollution.
The EPA's job is to protect people, not corporations and politicians' jobs. I am urging the EPA to regulate PFAS contamination and protect our drinking water. We can live without the chemicals that are being created, but we can not live without clean water. Several hundred Wilmington, NC residents crowded a meeting room recently to express their frustration with the NC Environmental Management Commission who think that big business can regulate itself, and if that were true, then these Forever Chemicals would not be in our waterways. It is time for the EPA to regulate these companies since they have shown us that they are choosing profit over people.
