Summary: The commenter opposes the proposed pesticide experimental use permit for the release of Wolbachia-infested mosquitoes by Google in Florida and California. They argue that the government should not approve the experiment without first conducting a widespread public awareness campaign to obtain informed consent from the residents of the affected states.
[PART 2 of 2]
As matters currently stand, there has been no press, no widespread notice of this plan or efforts made on a state-wide scale to ensure that those residing in either of these states will be fully informed and brought to the awareness that they have a voice in these affairs and retain the right to make theirs known. The several hundred comments you see which have been shared by those individuals who have learned about this planned experiment are possibly the few among thousands who may be in opposition of it, but I believe with full conviction that if this matter were made known on a wider scale then more voices will be raised among not only the people of these states but many others who may band together in solidarity for the sake and preservation of Florida and California's existing biological foodchains and conduction of daily life as we currently know it. Should this experiment be approved without full and informed consent being provided by the people and any form of harm should befall either state as a direct result of this experiment, investigations into the origin of the harm and damage caused will draw back to you, our government, and your approval of Google's plan, and we as the common people may press for changes made to our government to ensure that such an oversight will not again be tolerated or conducted and demand reparations for the harm which had been done.
To prevent this, I urge you, our government, to take into account the many voices which have risen here before you on this website page and to consider the countless other voices which have not been heard from the lack of awareness in regards to this planned experiment. Do not approve of this experimentation without first ensuring that efforts to have it brought to the forefront of the public consciousness have been properly conducted so that we the common people may be enabled to make known our individual and collective stance in this matter with full and informed consent or opposition. Do not allow yourself, our government, to be a direct enabler and supporter of what is essentially Google's violation of the states of Florida and California. Heed first and above all the voices of the common people- your people- and do not approve of this experiment as matters currently stand. Be on the right side of history, remain true to the articles upon which our nation has been founded and exhaust all efforts in informing the general public of this experiment to attain the many voices which will then be heard as a result.
The future will judge and hold to account those institutions and corporations which have acted in discretion without taking into consideration the voices of the common people, and it will be known then on a social and individual level that our ability to provide our voices had been rent from us should this experiment be approved as of this time. As opposed to rendering the government as more questionable and untrustworthy in the eyes of its citizenry, why not seize this as an opportunity to make known your goodwill and concern for those who you govern? Make an honest effort to inform the nation of this planned experiment. Garner then the voices which will be raised in either support or opposition then act accordingly to the majority of those voices. Represent us, the common people, the ones who under the founding articles of this nation have consented to be governed by you, our government, and in you have laid our trust and expectation that you will act in accordance to our will; that the designs of our nation and its government, having been constructed by our founding fathers with the safety and prosperity of this land in mind, will not be used against the common people and align itself with corporations and entities which are not bound by the same doctrines upon which our nation and government stands.
Heed our voices, so few though they may be, among the unheard thousands which we have raised against Google's planned release of the 64 million Wolbachia-infested mosquitoes in the states of Florida and California. Be on the right side of history and align yourself with us, the common people, and not run further afoul of our trust by approving of the biological violation which is Google's planned experiment without receiving the assent of the governed. Act so that in future retrospect it will be acknowledged that you, our government, had in this instance fought against the overreach of this corporation and aligned itself with the interests and concerns of the common people whose safety and general wellfare are your entrusted charge.
Be on the right side of history; reject Google's planned experiment until all efforts to fully inform the people of it have been exhausted and the attainment of our fully informed consent or opposition has been conducted.
Thank you for your time and consideration in hearing my individual and our collective pleas.
