Some serious questions are raised regarding a large company that's positioned mainly as a tech company proposing this "solution". I for one would have to question the Ultimate motive of such action. Typically whats presented externally isn't necessarily the end goal. Having an entity of mostly faceless unelected decision makers is concerning. Who is going to be responsible for the impact that may be caused if the experiment fails? Will it be the company? Or will they just fade into the bushes and have the local residents and/or the taxpayers have to deal with the fallout? Before that even, there's nothing that details who, how, or specifically where these experiments are planned ro take place. Are the local residents going to be notified? If so, who's responsibility is that?
There have been numerous studies which could be linked that have proven that these sorts of strategies often do not go as planned. Nature has her own way of dealing with things and typically things go worse with human intervention. Furthermore if this is permitted to move forward, then the precedent could be set for large privaye companies to seemingly change public policy. That is an unacceptable situation. As a United States Citizen I urge that this exemption be denied.
