Summary: The commenter supports the proposed guidance, stating that products should be allowed to make claims against viruses if there is substantial evidence of effectiveness. They also suggest that companies should be required to update their research and labeling as resistance to these products develops over time.
I support science-based claims and anything that can improve hygiene. Having a broad availability of cleaning agents that are effective against a wide range of pathogens would help to improve personal and community health. As long as there is substantial evidence to show effectiveness against certain viruses, I think the product should be able to claim this. However, as time goes on and resistance builds, I believe these companies should be mandated to update their research and labeling accordingly.
