Summary: The commenter opposes the proposed amendments to the coal ash disposal rule, expressing concern over the potential for water and air pollution from a local coal ash dump. They argue for stronger federal regulations to protect public health and the environment.
I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed changes to the Environmental Protection Agency rule entitled “Hazardous and Solid Waste Management System: Disposal of Coal Combustion Residuals From Electric Utilities; Legacy/CCRMU Amendments” (Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OLEM-2020-0107). We have a coal ash dump in our County and I remain concerned about pollution of the water and air as a result of this facility. We must have strong federal coal ash regulations to protect the health and safety of our people and planet.
