I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed changes to the Environmental Protection Agency rule entitled “Hazardous and Solid Waste Management System: Disposal of Coal Combustion Residuals From Electric Utilities; Legacy/CCRMU Amendments” (Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OLEM-2020-0107).
As a native of Appalachia, I am concerned about the effects of coal ash on local communities. This new rule will open the door to more environmental abuses, all in the name of profit. Without strong Federal protections, money rules at the expense of taxpayers and local communities.
