Summary: The Natural Resources Defense Council, along with several other environmental organizations, opposes the EPA's proposed revision of Tier 4 criteria pollutant standards for light- and medium-duty vehicles. They argue the proposal is an unlawful "rollback" that retroactively weakens standards, violates the Clean Air Act's anti-backsliding mandate, and fails to adequately protect public health from dangerous emissions.
