Summary: A medical oncologist argues that rolling back the proposed regulations will lead to increased rates of cancer and other respiratory diseases in Americans. The commenter cites peer-reviewed medical research to support the claim that petroleum production and transmission facilities contribute to significant health risks.
Rolling back these important regulations will cause premature deaths in Americans exposed to air pollution from crude oil and natural gas production, transmission & storage from respiratory diseases and cancers. I am a medical oncologist and know the harm that will be caused: hematological cancers in children, as well as mesothelioma, skin melanoma, multiple myeloma, Bladder cancer and prostate cancer in adults. These illnesses result in the premature deaths of American citizens can prevented by keeping current regulations in place. I strongly support that these regulations remain in place to help Americans stay as healthy as possible. Please find references below from peer-reviewed medical journals supporting my comments.
