I oppose the OMB's proposed rule "to amend the regulations regarding excepted benefits under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, the Internal Revenue Code, and the Public Health Service Act to establish certain fertility benefits as a new category of limited excepted benefits." The proposed change to include IVF treatment as an excepted benefit raises multiple concerns, especially when it comes to the destruction of unused human embryos. The solution to infertility and declining birth rates cannot include methods that result in the death of unborn children. In addition, I also have concerns regarding the protection of religious liberty and whether pro-life organizations may find themselves being forced to offer coverage options in their insurance plans for issues that violate their religious beliefs or consciences.
