Summary: An individual passenger is expressing outrage over what they perceive as a "bait and switch" regarding involuntary downgrades. They argue that the airline's practice of providing a lower-tier service for the same price is unfair and illegal, comparing it to being given a different product than what was purchased in other industries.
This is pure theft. There is no way this bait and switch can be legal. It is unfortunate that American management is incompetent and cannot figure out how to turn a profit the way Delta, United, or Southwest can. In what other industry or business is this acceptable? I order a Big Mac at McDonalds is it ok for them to give me a plain hamburger (single) for the same price? If I but a Chevy Silverado is it ok to give me a Bolt? How about I buy XL pants and they give me a small? I paid for a margarita but I get tap water....? I say again, what other industry or business is allowed to legally do this?
