Summary: The Campbell County Board of Commissioners in Wyoming supports the Department of the Interior's request for information on regulatory reform. They argue for increased state and local participation in federal land management, the protection of private property rights, and the promotion of economic development, specifically regarding coal and oil and gas leasing.
Dear Secretary Burgum:
On behalf of the Campbell County Board of Commissioners (County) located in Gillette, Wyoming, I want to thank you for allowing us the opportunity to submit comments regarding the Department of the Interior’s (DOI) request for information specific to regulatory reform. Working to find a balance between managing resources under numerous laws and regulations; maximizing state and local participation in the process; recognizing and protecting private property rights; and promoting economic development are critical to our western way of life and our federal partners play a profound role in that equation. Please see the attached comment letter in its entirety.
Sincerely,
Kelley McCreery
Board of Commissioners, Chairman
