Rural Health Clinics (RHC) are the cornerstone of health care for underserved rural patients. Their perform emergency care, urgent health assessments, and referrals to specialized medical centers. Reducing quality care oversight allows RHC to practice as they choose and little quality controls.
This includes:
1. OSHA compliance, blood borne pathogens, hand washing, infection control.
2. Medication errors and storage, lack of emergency medications, and outdated medication use.
3. Patient safety concerns. Reporting patient abuse and neglect, evaluation of home health needs,
4. Oversight of RHC Providers. Primary source license, practice restrictions, ordering scheduled medications, peer review and emergency care including AED and CPR.
5. Emergency Preparedness annual review and involvement.
