Summary: The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) supports the proposed New Technology Add-On Payment (NTAP) for the NEXUS® Aortic Arch Stent Graft System and the adoption of Unique Device Identifiers (UDI) for implantable medical devices. They also request that CMS perform mortality-stratified cost analyses for pulmonary embolism cases involving heart assist devices to better account for high resource intensity in survivors.
