I am in general outraged that we have to beg for protections for any being, or place, which doesn't have an ROI. I am tired of governmental institutions not following their own rules and protect, not eliminate, [redacted text.] I strongly oppose any plan to allow deep-sea mining in Alaska’s Arctic waters. These waters are home to countless marine species, many of which have not even been discovered yet. Industrial seabed mining risks irreversible damage to fragile ecosystems, threatens coastal communities, and could release stored carbon from the ocean floor, worsening climate change. Given the scientific uncertainty and the potential for permanent harm, I urge BOEM to reject any proposal that would permit deep-sea mining in Alaska’s Arctic. The long-term environmental and climate risks far outweigh any short-term economic gains.
