Summary: An individual is expressing opposition to any updates that would weaken the management standards for wilderness and wild lands. They argue that the Department must prioritize long-term preservation over short-term exploitation to protect ecological integrity and cultural resources.
I oppose weakening wilderness and wild lands management by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), and National Park Service (NPS), including without limitation: the Management of Wilderness Study Areas (BLM-2026-0069); Considering Lands with Wilderness Characteristics (BLM-2026-0068); Management of Designated Wilderness Areas (BLM-2026-0067); Wilderness Stewardship (NPS-2026-0100); and Wilderness Administration and Resource Stewardship (FWS-HQ-NWRS-2026-2575).
The United States are admired worldwide for our public lands, including parks, monuments, wild lands and wilderness. These resources are vital in maintaining ecological integrity, protecting cultural resources, and providing unique opportunities for peaceful recreation among a variety of types of users. The Department must uphold strong management standards to safeguard these invaluable public lands, which belong to ALL of us.
Please, literally for the love of all things living, prioritize long-term preservation over short-term exploitation. You can do so by maintaining robust wilderness management policies and refusing to weaken any/all existing policies and protections. Any weakening of these guidelines would endanger millions of acres and jeopardize our natural heritage, as well as one of the few remaining areas where America still has a strong positive international reputation. Please preserve these areas for now, and for future generations.
I appreciate your time and work on behalf of the American public. Thank you for considering my concerns.
