Summary: A firearms dealer supports the proposed joint registration for spouses, arguing it simplifies the paperwork process compared to using trusts. The commenter notes that joint ownership reflects the reality of shared household access and will reduce the costs associated with creating trusts.
For once, common sense! Not only will this save a TON of money being spent to create trusts, it will make a much needed change. It should be obvious that a husband and a wife would naturally have access to all firearms stored in the safe. Unless one party was a prohibited person, no transfer has taken place. And as a dealer, I can tell you it will be MUCH easier to submit paperwork under a name rather than under a trust. Trusts often have problems even being accepted for review. I strongly support this proposed change
