Summary: The commenter supports the rule change because it simplifies the registration process for spouses as co-possessors of NFA items. They also highlight the benefit of allowing spouses to handle and dispose of these items as executors prior to probate, avoiding delays in the legal process.
This rule change is one of the more common sense changes that the ATF could make. It will save a lot of time for possessors of NFA items to allow spouses to be a co-possessor without having to re-register the items to include one's spouse. Further, it would allow a spouse to handle the NFA items if he or she is the executor of an estate prior to probate. This way the spouse can handle and legally dispose of the NFA items without having to wait for a probate court to issue Letters of Testamentary to the executor.
I am in favor of this rule change and wholly support it.
