Summary: The commenter supports the removal of the current factoring criteria for stabilizing braces. They argue that the existing point system is subjective and overly strict, suggesting that the ATF should instead provide a clear definition of a stock and classify anything else as a brace.
I believe that the ATF needs to remove the convoluted and subjective system on deciding what is and is not a stabilizing brace. The point system that was supposedly intended to make a simple determination as to the status of a stock or brace, but in practice was overly strict and up to individual interpretation as to what was intended. Any rule clarifying what is a stock versus a brace must first define what precisely a stock is, and a brace would simply be anything that isn't a stock.
