Comment on FR Doc # 2026-09157

Massasauga OutfittersOpposeIndividual
Summary: The commenter opposes the proposed rule, arguing that it favors large online retailers over small local gun shops and replaces human judgment with automated processes. They specifically request that the rule be struck down regarding the direct shipping of standard firearms.
The current in-person system for gun sales works well, so why change it? This proposal kills small local shops by moving sales to big online firms. These shops provide jobs and keep neighborhoods safe. While the existing process for NFA items requires a real government sign-off after sending prints and photos, this new plan replaces that human judgment with a video call and a notice to police that requires no real approval. ATF admits in 91 FR 25216 that buyers will pay new fees for identity checks. My local shop catches risks a computer never will. Please strike the parts of this rule that allow direct shipping of standard firearms.
