Bears Gun RoomOpposeIndividual
Summary: The commenter opposes the proposed revision to non-over-the-counter firearms transaction requirements, arguing that in-person interaction is necessary for store owners to verify identities and prevent fraudulent purchases.
This is not a good idea. The store owner is your first and last line of defense to help make sure the people trying to purchase a firearm and indeed who they present themselves to be and to watch for any issues that may arise out of fraudulent purchases. How could you even remotely verify that the person filling out the docs is the same person purchasing the gun. You can’t if you don’t see them.
