Summary: Richard Blakeman, owner of Classic Jewelry & Loan Barboursville, opposes the proposed rule because he believes it will make it easier for criminals to obtain firearms. He argues that the rule will undermine the ability of local dealers to vet customers and could lead to increased crime and firearm confiscation.
My name is Richard Blakeman, owner of Classic Jewelry & Loan Barboursville, WVA 25504.
i HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS SINCE 2004 and do not see the firearm industry as we know it will continue with this proposal. Local dealers are the front line in implementation of federal firearms rules and regulations. A week does not go by that we refuse a sale to a person who is under the influence, or has another person trying to do the paperwoek on their behalf because they are prohibited, AKA A straw sale. This proposd rule will open up the spiquet and allow the cartel, gangs and all other types of crime or prohibited persons unlimited access to firearms. Local law ebforcement will not logistically be able to vet these individuals. With this rule I believe it will ultimately lead to anarcy on the streets and total confiscation of firearms because of all the illegal activity.
Thank You,
Richard Blakeman
