Summary: The commenter opposes the proposed action, arguing that firearms are inherently more dangerous than motor vehicles and that gun manufacturers prioritize profit over public safety. They advocate for stronger regulations and the election of representatives who prioritize the value of life over profit.
We are required to be trained in the safe operation of our motor vehicles because the solid consensus is that a motor vehicle, misused, can become deadly. We all know that firearms are the same, really more dangerous, because they are designed to kill. Vehicles are not. The profit motive must be regulated strongly to impose moral guidance since it is evident that businesses, when motivated only by profit, can become immoral. A gun and ammo manufacturer can become immoral. They can get to an extreme where they can see only that shoot outs are good for business. I'd love to be proven wrong about this, but their promotion of weaking such an already inadequate law demonstrates that they value profit over all else, much like the current regime in the White House. We must vote for reps that truly respect life, not just birth - and - money. Thank you.
