To whom it may concern: I submit for general consideration the following. Guns NFA items in general should be considered as a genie that will not go back into a bottle. Bad guys have them and will continue to have them and that is a fact. It’s never going to change. Over the last several decades we have tried to legislate away the intentions of evil men, not only is this a fool hearty endeavor and has caused incalculable damage to the individual liberties and rights of the honest citizens as admitted to by the current leadership of the BATF. It has also indirectly enabled criminal activity and dare I say terrorism as the witch hunt only targeted legitimate business owners with pointless bureaucratic burdens, with little to no law to back up the accusations. A really big loop hole I would like to bring to your attention is the blatant hypocrisy of allowing law enforcement to have a monopoly on modern firearms I can personally attest that the tyranny of evil men can come from those in perceived authority. Furthermore the good will and best intentions of good men often are not enough when moments matter and seconds are an eternity. The fact that the overwhelmingly majority of Americans cannot afford a secret service detail armed with modern weaponry to defend themselves. They must make due with the lawfully acquired weapons at their disposal. Not for the purposes of inflicting their will upon others but to stop others from inflicting their ill intentions upon them. None of us here would begrudge the use of extreme violence in the defense of our president or our national security. Why thin will those in authority begrudge us the limited use of discretionary violence to maintain our lives and our liberties?
