I believe this basically deregulates the sale of firearms, i.e., DEADLY WEAPONS causing chaos all over the world, especially in Haiti where my Frederick, MD. Catholic Parish, St. Katharine Drexel, has a partner parish which is suffering due to the chaos from firearms in the hands of gangs.
This rule removes enforcement tools that help identify unlicensed dealers, making it easier for prohibited individuals to obtain firearms from sellers who are not required to run background checks.
Unlicensed gun sellers are the source of 41% of all trafficking investigations between 2017 and 2021. Irresponsible or criminal gun dealers have a critical role in moving weapons to criminal organizations.
