Summary: The commenter supports the proposed change regarding the importation of dual-use frames, receivers, or barrels. They argue that the current requirement to destroy parts kits increases the cost of firearms for the public and that the U.S. should benefit from the use of already machined parts.
I approve of this change and it is long overdue. A firearms part in and of itself had never been sporting or non sporting. Forcing the destruction of barrels and other parts for the importation of parts kits has only ever served to increase the cost of the finished firearms for sale to the public. Considerable effort goes into creating machined parts, and if the American people can benefit from use of those parts, already machined, then we should.
