This rule is a step in the right direction. Deregulation of firearms for moral Americans is always the right decision and should be pursued through further restoration of rights. The intent of the 2nd amendment is to ensure that we the people have the effective means to defend ourselves against a government that is intent on enslavement or outright killing. Many times in our own history we have seen our own government commit acts that morally are indefensible and show why our founders enshrined the amendment in our constitution.
While only a step in that direction this is the right direction. I support this rule and hope to see more in this vein. Any firearm can have a "sporting" purpose, so that is really just an administrative infringement. I do not believe the people should have to prove to the government why we should be able to own any firearm we want. We are the ultimate power in the country and that has been lost on the agencies that blindly follow the ramblings of a immoral government more interested in its own power that it true mission of serving the people and ensuring the next generation is ably equipped to handle that freedom.
