Summary: An individual firearm owner supports the proposed rule change because it would reduce the administrative burden of filing Form 20s when transporting NFA firearms to different states. The commenter notes that this change would also save time for government employees who currently review these forms.
I support this proposed rule change. Although I live in Texas and have the benefit of being in such a geographically large state where I can take my NFA firearms to various ranges, I have friends and family back east in smaller states that I visit from time to time, some of whom also share my hobby. Being able to take my NFA firearms to ranges in these states without having to fill out a Form 20 and wait for approval would ease paperwork burden on me, and on employees in the NFA Division who review these forms. Every Form 20 that is reviewed is time not being spent reviewing Form 4's or Form 1's.
