Summary: An individual commenter supports the proposed action to eliminate the short-term notice requirement for interstate travel with NFA items. They argue that this change would provide convenience for lawful owners who wish to travel short distances to visit friends or use ranges in neighboring states where such items are legal.
To whom it may concern, I do believe that eliminating the short term notice requirement for interstate travel would benefit thousands of lawful owners of SBR’s and SBS’s. For people who live close to state lines where both SBR’s and SBS’s are legal to have in both states, they could travel for the day to friends houses or certain ranges to lawfully use their NFA items. This way they wouldn’t have to obtain the correct paperwork to cross state lines (where legally allowed) for a short period of time like a weekend trip or day trip. Thank you
