I support the adoption of this rule change. Requesting approval for interstate travel is an unnecessary burden on owners of short barreled rifles and shotguns who wish to travel to another state with their lawfully possessed NFA items. Currently there is no such requirement for these requests for silencers, which also have similar restrictions for possession in various states. It is incumbent upon the owner to review applicable state laws for possession and use of NFA items and they should not have to request permission nor provide private details on their travel within the United States with said items.
