Summary: An individual supports the revision of the definition of "unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance." They argue that the current rule unfairly disqualifies law-abiding individuals in state-compliant medical marijuana programs from exercising their Second Amendment rights.
I strongly support revising the definition of “unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance”.
This change is long overdue. The current rule unfairly disqualifies responsible people enrolled in state-compliant medical marijuana programs. Law abiding people who use marijuana legally under state medical programs — particularly now that it is in Schedule III — should not be treated as “unlawful users.” A valid medical marijuana card or physician-supervised use should not bar someone from exercising their Second Amendment rights.
