This is an unconstitutional violation of the 2nd amendment. Some states have allowed trans and nonbinary individuals to change their gender listed on their official government ID. This rule change would result in those people having their 4473 denied because their ID would not match their 'sex assigned at birth' as requested on the form.
Additionally, clerical errors happen sometimes and cis people are occasionally assigned a sex at birth that does not match their body or inner persona. Those people would also have their 4473's rejected for not matching their ID if the clerical error had been corrected.
