Summary: The commenter, a concealed carry permit holder, supports the proposed action to clarify exceptions to the Brady Act. They argue that existing permit verification processes are sufficient and that additional background checks at the time of purchase create unnecessary burdens on resellers and the NICS system.
As a responsible conceal carry permit holder, I support this legislation. Being a CCP holder I have, and at regular intervals, been verified to not be a threat and prove that I take my responsibility seriously through undergoing this process. Additional background checks at the time of purchase serve provide no further proof than what I have already provided and only adds unnecessary burden on resellers and a the NICS system. I am in favor of streamlining any processes that are redundant and offer no real value.
