Summary: The commenter is a business owner providing laser engraving services to private makers. They support the removal of marking requirements for re-manufactured firearms, arguing that the requirements impose unnecessary financial burdens and decrease the monetary value of historically significant or collectible firearms.
As the owner of a for-profit corporation who offers laser engraving services to private makers, I wholeheartedly support the removal of the marking requirements for re-manufactured firearms. This is a redundant and pointless exercise that does, generally, place an additional financial burden on firearms owners as many makers do not have the necessary equipment to properly mark their firearms. Additionally, and not mentioned in the justification text, NFA firearms are often converted from existing firearms that have a high value as a historically important rarity or collectable and requiring the additional markings (generally) negatively affects the monetary value of the firearm in question.
