I do not believe that any record keeping is required or justified when a law abiding American Citizen purchases or sell a firearm. They are well within their enumerated rights to do so without infringement. Collecting and storing these records serves no public good and enable potential weaponization in the future.
While I do not agree with the current paper 4473 process, I would much prefer a slow and secure process that a vulnerable one that can be accessed quickly by bad actors.
