Re: Form 4473, Docket ATF-2026-0001 While I realize that the ATF has been given its authority by Congress, it is mportant to note that the ATF does not make laws. Only Congress can make laws, which must go through a usually lengthy process, be debated and voted on by our representatives, eventually being signed by the President, or vetoed, and then debated again, and signed or not. Then the law is enacted. ATF is not a lawmaking body. The 2nd amendment specifically protects a law abiding citizen's right to possess a firearm. Being transgender is not a violation of the law, and as long as that person does not violate the law, their right to bear arms should not be infringed, to borrow language from the founders. Denying law abiding transgenders the right to bear arms simply because they are transgender is discriminatory, and another wobbly rock on that slippery slope downhill to deny Americans rights guaranteed by our founding documents. There has been enough of that, especially as pertains to lawmakers running roughshod over the Constitution as well as ignoring the wishes of the population that duly elected them, for example, the Save America Act. We must use the Constitution as our guiding principles and path or we are lost as a country. I'm not going to cite legal precedent, although there is plenty. I am a voting citizen, who has had my right to bear arms infringed by over zealous law enforcement in a state famous for eroding citizens' rights. I support law enforcement whole heartedly, but when certain members are driven by an agenda, the system fails. I have since voted with my feet. I hope that your agency will apply our laws judiciously and fairly to all citizens, no matter their race, color, creed, sexual orientation, as our laws state.
